Antares Hybrid Fennel F1
Antares Fennel is a very uniform, pure white bulb, and beautiful plant and was a 2017 All-American Selection winner and is the first fennel to ever be selected as a winner for its amazing flavor compared to other fennel varieties. While fennel already has a very distinct flavor, the Antares features an almost sweet, licorice/anise flavor. This extremely versatile plant can be grown as an edible bulb, for its ornamental greenery, as a seed producer, and as a favorite food of pollinators, namely swallowtail caterpillars. Antares Fennel is a perennial that can be sown Spring through early Fall and has a fair degree of cold hardiness. Winter sowing is possible in areas with low frost. Antares Fennel needs full sun and can be started in our seed starting trays. Foeniculum vulgare. 60-70 days to maturity.

Description
Antares Fennel is a flowering plant species in the carrot family. A hardy herb with yellow flowers and feathery leaves. Indigenous to the shores of the Mediterranean but has been widely naturalized in many parts of the world, especially on dry soils near the sea-coasts and rivers banks.
