162 Cell Seed Starting Trays – Single
162 Cell Seed Starting Trays – 5 Pack

Forget those flimsy vegetable propagation trays that you have to replace year after year! These reusable Seed Starting Trays are superior quality and built to last a lifetime. Each tray includes 162 cells for starting plants of any fruit or vegetable variety that you can imagine. Works great for propagating tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, okra, watermelon, lettuce, chard, broccoli, cauliflower, collards, kale and many more!

Growing your own vegetable plants has many benefits. It allows you to get a jump start on the growing season by having plants ready to go in the ground as soon as the weather allows. This is a great strategy for crops like watermelons or okra that prefer warmer soils. So instead of waiting for soil temps to warm for direct seeding, you already have plants ready to go in the ground when the weather allows. Also, starting your own seeds allows more flexibility in what varieties you decide to grow. You no longer have to grow only what’s available at the big box stores. And it’s a much more affordable, long-term solution than paying $4-5 for a tomato plant.

Our Seed Starting Trays are made in the USA with an ultra-durable, injected molded design and they are guaranteed to outlast any other vegetable propagation trays on the market. Each cell in these 162 plug trays has internal vertical root training ribs which guide the roots down to the drain hole, creating a vertical chimney to aid with aeration of the root ball and drainage. This unique feature trains the roots to grow downwards instead of wrapping and becoming root bound — leading to higher quality transplants which suffer less transplant shock and begin producing faster.

Better than expected, seedlings grow with super strong roots

This seed starting tray is the bomb. I got a bunch of cheap trays several years ago and then I bought 1 of these trays from Hoss. I started seeds in both trays and the ones grown in the cheap tray were significantly smaller/weaker/sicker looking. So I bought another one of these trays. You get what you pay for; I’d spend your money on these.

Highly recommend… these trays are fun, easy to use and save time. Professional product

We have used these trays for a few years, and I’m here now to buy more. This is THE best tray on the market. We are a small-scale mushroom farm with a market garden. The regular 10 20 trays only last a season or two before they start breaking and are flimsy. These 162 trays are solid. They will literally last us the rest of our life. They are so durable. Worth every penny. That’s why I’m back to buy more. Top-quality. Great value.

I bought my 162 cell seed tray for a small backyard garden. The tray makes enough plants that I can readily share them with the neighborhood. The durable tray makes seed starting easy. The design of the cells encourages optimal root growth without the usual twisting effect. I thought 162 cells was initially too much for my needs, but since we are a garden-sharing neighborhood, I don’t think a second tray would be out of the question at some point.

These are great. They are made out of a very heavy plastic. Here’s my tip: Each 162 cell tray uses exactly 6 qts of seed starting planting mix.

Great trays, a huge improvement over collecting/reusing disposable trays. Extremely sturdy and easy to fill/plant into, just wish the hole in the bottom or each cell was a pinch larger so I could pop my pinky in to push out the transplant (its 7/16″), but I don’t think there is a way they could have done that at this cell size. No big deal to use a dowel, especially because you only need one hand in a corner to lift the tray (thanks to the sturdy design).
