Lime Red Queeny Zinnia

Lime Red Queeny Zinnia is truly an unexpected beauty in the garden, it's widely known as the "Queen Red Lime". These flowers have large, vibrant, dahlia-like blooms that include colors from lime green to mauve and rose. A perfect flower for the flower market gardener! This is a perfect variety for cut flower production. Harvest flowers when blooms are just opening for best results. Remove the leaves on the stems below the bloom for optimal longevity. Blooms will keep for several weeks with adequate water in a jar or vase. Zinnias can be direct-seeded or transplanted. To direct seed, create a small furrow in the soil and scatter the zinnia seed along the furrow. Use a garden rake to lightly cover the seed and pack the planted area. Zinnias grow well when planted on double rows with drip irrigation. Lay one row of drip tape and plant on both sides of the tape to maximize garden space.

Transplants are ready to go in the ground when plants can be easily pulled from the seed starting trays. Zinnias are very heat-tolerant and will continue to produce throughout the warm months of summer. To maximize production, prune or “dead-head” plants to promote the development of new blooms.
