Johnny Jump Up violas, also known as Wild Pansies, are very common in Europe and are famous for their tricolored blooms of vibrant purple, yellow, white, and or faded blue. One of the most popular edible flowers used. They can be both perennials and annuals, but are usually grown as annuals, especially in the northern climates. Since these blooms are delicate, they can be sensitive to extreme heat; they prefer mild, cooler temperatures. Johnny Jump Ups can be used medicinally and to brighten up any drink or dish! Description
Johnny Jump Ups can be direct-seeded or transplanted and will typically germinate in 7-10 days. However, for best results, we recommend transplanting. This flower variety grows great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays with our Black Gold Seed Starting Mix. Plant one seed per cell and keep soil moist, but not over-saturated. Fertilize seedlings after the appearance of the first true leaves. Plants will be ready to transplant with they can be easily pulled from the cells in the seed tray.
