Benary Giant Zinnia Mix is our preferred cut flower for vegetable gardens. Attract pollinators and harvest beautiful bouquets of flowers throughout the entire warm growing season. Zinnia elegans. 75 days to maturity. Seed garden label included in seed pack.

Description

Benary Giant Zinnia Mix is a great addition to any vegetable garden. This cut flower variety will attract pollinators to increase garden production, but can also be used to harvest beautiful, colorful bouquets of flowers. Zinnias are one of the easiest cut flower varieties to grow and Benary Giant Zinnia Mix is the recommended variety by the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers. Plants produce vibrant blooms that are 3-4" in diameter. Zinnias have great storage potential and will keep for several weeks once cut and placed into a vase or jar. This mix contains the following colors: deep red, orange, carmine rose, coral, lime, wine, purple, bright pink, white, salmon rose, scarlet, golden yellow.

Benary Giant Zinnia Mix can be direct seeded or transplanted. Due to the papery texture of the seed and the oblong seed size, zinnias do not plant well with a walk-behind planter. As a result, direct-seeding must be done by hand. To direct seed, create a small furrow in the soil and scatter the zinnia seed along the furrow. Use a garden rake to lightly cover the seed and pack the planted area. Zinnias grow well when planted on double rows with drip irrigation. Lay one row of drip tape and plant on both sides of the tape to maximize garden space. Zinnias also perform well when transplanted. They grow great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays. Transplants are ready to go in the ground when plants can be easily pulled from the seed starting trays. Zinnias are very heat-tolerant and will continue to produce throughout the warm months of summer. To maximize production, prune or "dead-head" plants to promote development of new blooms.

Memories

When I was a kid my mom "fenced" the family garden in the backyard with giant Zinnia and a row of French Marigolds around the ankles of the Zinnia. They were so beautiful. When I saw Greg present these a Row/Row YT i visited the site and knew right a way, I'd buy a pkg and plant across the back of my raised beds. The colors and blooms were the same. I know it will bring a smile to my face each time I go out to those raised beds. And with the French Marigolds I already plant back there, I'm sure the rabbits, voles and other critters will be barraged with a scent they hate.

The Perfect Zinnia

I have been growing zinnia's for many years and these are the best seeds ever. Germination rate is in high 90's and they produce the most perfect blooms ever! The more blooms you cut, the more they produce. Follow Hoss Tools planting instructions, you will not be disappointed.
