Our 8 mil Drip Tape Irrigation Kit contains everything you need to water your vegetable garden the most effective and environmentally friendly way. Drip Irrigation allows you to use less water while watering more effectively. This is because you are only placing water directly where your plants need it — at the roots. Because you’re not watering the leaves, disease pressure and pest pressure will be greatly reduced.

You also will have much fewer weeds between the rows in your vegetable garden. With overhead watering, many areas of your garden are unnecessarily watered, which results in watering weed seed and germinated weeds that you don’t want to grow. However, with drip irrigation you only place water underneath or beside the plants and you don’t water those spaces between rows.

We highly recommend burying your Drip Tape. Our Drip Tape can be buried up to 6″ deep in the soil. Using our Double Wheel Hoe and Drip Tape Layer Attachment, you can easily lay and bury your Drip Tape along each row. There are many advantages to burying it, which include:

  • It keeps the Drip Tape straight along the row, keeps the water emitters facing upward and prevents the tape from twisting over time.
  • It prevents rats and other pests from being able to chew into the Drip Tape, causing leaks and headaches.
  • By burying the Drip Tape, you can direct seed on top of it with our Hoss Garden Seeder that has a rolling coulter furrow opener.

This 8 mil Drip Tape Irrigation Kit also makes it really easy to fertilize your garden while you water it, saving  you time and energy. By installing a Fertilizer Injector between the spigot and your Drip Irrigation system, you can easily inject water soluble fertilizer into your watering system so that you feed your vegetable plants while you water them.

Drip Tape Irrigation Kit Includes:

1 – 1500 ft. Drip Tape Roll – 8 mil thickness that lasts for several growing cycles (spring and fall) or one year. Emitters every 12″.

1 – 100 ft. Mainline Tubing Roll – Our 5/8″ Mainline Tubing runs along the border of your garden and feeds water into individual Drip Tape lines.

1 – Filter Regulator Combo – Includes 3/4″ Hose Swivel, Filter with removable screen, 12 PSI Pressure Regulator, and Hose Swivel with Screen that connects to Mainline Tubing.

1 – Hole Punch – Used for punching holes in Mainline Tubing for attaching Drip Tape Row Starts.

1 – Mainline Tee – Used for splitting Mainline Tubing into two separate lines.

2 – Figure 8 End Clamps – Used to clamp and stop flow at the end of a section of Mainline Tubing.

2 – Mainline Couplings – Used to create a linear connection between two pieces of Mainline Tubing. Handy when repairing a cut in Mainline Tubing or when piecing two scrap sections to create a longer section.

20 – Drip Tape Row Starts – Used at the beginning of each row to connect Drip Tape to Mainline Tubing.

20 – Drip Tape Row Ends – Used to clamp and stop flow at the end of a row of Drip Tape.

4 – Drip Tape Couplings – Used to connect two pieces of Drip Tape. Handy for repairing nicks or cuts in a section of Drip Tape.

10 – Goof Plugs – Used to plug holes in Mainline Tubing where Drip Tape Row Starts where installed. Handy when changing row spacing from spring to fall gardens.

Drip Tape Irrigation Kit Requirements:

Water hose – connects to a 3/4″ water hose or 3/4″ spigot. Must be connected downstream from all shutoff valves.

Pressure – PSI should be below 50 psi and 8 gallons per minute. Requires a flow rate between 0.4 to 8 gallons per minute. To calculate your flow rate, simply record the time (in minutes that it takes to fill a 5 gallon bucket with water. Then divide 5 by the time above to obtain your gallon per minute rate. For example, if it takes 30 seconds (0.5 minutes) to fill a 5 gallon bucket, your flow rate is 10 gallons per minute because:

5 gal / 0.5 min = 10 gal/min

Row length – Our Drip Tape can be used on a maximum row length of 100 ft. at 12 psi. We don’t recommend using on rows longer than 100 feet. If rows are too long, water will not be equally distributed throughout the Drip Tape along the row.

Row number – With a flow rate of 5 gallons per minute, our Drip Tape can support 1,250 feet of Drip Tape. That’s the equivalent of 30 rows that are 40 feet long. To calculate how much Drip Tape your system can support, first calculate your flow rate based on the example above. Then divide your flow rate by 5 and multiply that number times 1,250 ft. For example, if your flow rate is 8 gallons per minute, the maximum length of tape your system can support is 2,000 ft. because:

(8 gal/min) / (5 gal/min) x 1,250 ft. = 2,000 ft.

I have put the drip tape out amd been using it , it has helped out a lot with water on the tomatoes. Now when I’m not here and at work for 24 hours my wife can go out and just turn it on for about 3 hours and then turn back off.

We love this irrigation system. It was very easy to use and when I had a question I called and was helped right away! Great company!

This is my second Kit as I have expanded my beds. It was a piece of cake to set up and has been great to keeping my plants irrigated and growing even in the heat.

We are new to this method of watering, so we are having learning curve issues such as dripping at the ends and starts because we are not attaching the tape properly; nicks in the tape because SOMEbody didn’t listen to me when I told them to “bury it deeper than that”; etc. I didn’t like that the mainline was not stripped as shown in the videos. Additionally, we received Irritec brand tape instead of the Rivulus as shown in the videos. I am presuming these products had to be changed for a number of reasons because the videos were more than a year old. The strip on the mainline was really crucial though.

Over the years I have used pvc systems, drip hoses and was not pleased at all. Drip hoses (in addition to being more expensive) were inefficient and either developed holes or were totally inconsistent. Your product is not only simple to set up but much more cost effective on water use, a great guide for planting and OVERALL A MUCH SUPERIOR PRODUCT THAN ANYTHING I HAVE USED IN THE PAST

This is part of my process when laying drip tape for my small backyard suburban plots. First, open furrow rows through the plot. Second, pour out a line of organic fertilizer on the bottom of the furrow. Third, lay the drip tape onto the fertilizer. Note, if you have a small plot, you can increase the water output for a small plot by laying 2 or 3 drip lines in a single furrow so that you can also use the fertilizer injector even though you might not have enough water output if you just put a single drip line per furrow.

Fourth, mark the underground path of the drip tape with 1-ft galvanized fabric staples, every other foot on the drip tape emitter. Five, cover the furrow with the fabric staples clearly delineating spacing and roughly where each emitter is.

This product works well with our garden space. The only issue I had with the tape was some breakage or kinking after rolling it out. I would expect the tape to lay flat after warming in the sun, but in several places the unrolled drip tape was prone to cracking. Other than that, this is a good time and water saver.

Trial and error setting up, thats all me. Once together and correct AMAZED! Got a dry spell borderline drought this year and I am saying “Whew!” Wise investment. Keeps water bill down a lil everything growing well so far and telling anyone that’ll listen!
