Be sure to check out our Winter Squash Growing Guide to learn how to successfully grow winter squash at home.

Small Wonder Spaghetti Squash is a personal-sized spaghetti squash with higher yields than larger spaghetti squash varieties. Grow more fruit in the same amount of space with this highly-productive hybrid. Small Wonder Spaghetti Squash produces 10-15 bright yellow fruits per plant. Plants have a vining growth habit and will reach 4-6' in length. Fruits are typically 3 pounds and 5-6" long. Spaghetti squash have great storage ability and can store up to six months in a cool, dry environment. They make a great alternative to pasta and are easy to prepare. Just cut in half, bake or microwave, and tease with a fork to reveal the delicious strands.

Winter squash may be direct seeded or transplanted, although we highly recommend direct seeding. To ensure a good stand, we recommend planting Seeds every 12" along the intended row. Once plants emerge, thin plants to one every 2 feet. Winter squash can be susceptible to plant diseases like downy mildew and powdery mildew if leaves receive excess moisture. As a result, we recommend using drip irrigation on winter squash to reduce plant moisture and feed plants more effectively. During periods of heavy rainfall, using a fungicide like Liquid Copper can help to alleviate disease pressure as well.

Winter Squash are a crop that will produce a one-time harvest at the end of the growing season. Winter Squash should be harvested when plants die back and the fruits obtain their full color. Stem hardness is also an indication of fruit maturity. Once stems harden, fruits are ready for harvest using a set of pruning shears. Winter Squash can be stored in a cool, dry place for several months, depending on variety and sugar content. Once fruits are harvested, remove the plants from the garden to prevent any fungal spores from overwintering and becoming a problem in future years. Proper crop rotation is extremely important with all winter squash varieties to reduce disease and pest pressure.

Excellent producer.

I have harvested 21 squash so far from 2 plants. I grow for other family members as I don't especially like spaghetti squash. But, I prepared one of these and actually liked it. Perfect size for 1-3 people. I can't comment on the storage life at this point. Central California Zone 9B, hot and dry climate.

Grew this variety in 2022. It was very prolific. Truly does give 10 plus squash per vine. I grew mine up a trellis and they vined 10 to 20 feet. The squash bugs seemed to be very attracted to the vines, but I did not have any vine wilting or death from the bugs. The squash has stored very well. It is the middle of February and I still have two baskets full of them. I only gave 4 stars because I felt the inside flesh, while tasty, was not as stringy or spaghetti like as other varieties I have grown.

Great germination and hearty plants. Lots of smaller size squash that market customers love! Grows well in zone 7. Already ordering for next year!
