Description

Marigold Sparky Mix is a cool-season flower with a vibrant blend of bright yellow, orange and red blooms. Sparky Mix is a French marigold, which has a smaller plant but more blooms than a Scottish Marigold like our Calendula Prince Mix. These marigolds are great for planting near the vegetable garden. Interplant them between your vegetable rows or use them as a border plant on the edges of the vegetable garden.

They will attract pollinators to increase vegetable harvests, and they will also increase the presence of beneficial insects to reduce your overall pest pressure. They are known to naturally repel pests like aphids and mosquitos. Marigold Sparky Mix has even been noted to reduce populations of harmful nematodes. Plants average 12-14" tall with flowers that are 2" across. This marigold has an extended bloom period that lasts for over 4 weeks.

We recommend transplanting Marigold Sparky Mix for best results. This flower variety grows great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays with Pro-Mix Organic Seed Starting Mix. Plant one seed per cell and keep soil moist, but not over-saturated. Fertilize seedlings after the appearance of the first true leaves. Plants will be ready to transplant with they can be easily pulled from the cells in the seed tray. Marigolds are a cool-season flower that performs best in early spring and fall. In spring, plant several weeks before the last frost date. In fall, plant several weeks before the first frost date. Place transplants 6-12″ apart along the row. Marigolds may be planted on single rows or double rows on drip irrigation. Prune blooms for continual performance throughout the growing season.
