One of the truly great characteristics of the Hossinator (STM2255), though, is that despite being a hybrid, it has the amazing vine-ripe acidic flavor of an heirloom tomato that is difficult to find today. The Hossinator (STM2255) has a medium growth height and produces impressively large fruits that average 8oz – 12oz each with no pruning needed. However, this variety can benefit from pruning to grow truly massive, award-winning tomatoes. If you want to grow huge tomatoes, simply prune suckers from the bottom of the plant up to the 4th limb. Pelleted.
The Hossinator Tomato (STM2255) is an absolute show-stopper! This determinate slicer variety is extremely versatile and has been widely adapted to successfully grow in different regions and seasons. It features a smooth, firm globe shape and an attractive scarlet red skin with a deep red flesh whose flavor is truly remarkable. The Hossinator (STM2255) has been bred to have one of the best disease packages of any tomato on the market.
Tomatoes are in the nightshade family along with peppers and eggplant. Plants in the nightshade family are susceptible to blossom end rot, which is a result of a calcium deficiency. To prevent or alleviate this problem, apply pelleted gypsum at the base of the plant at the bloom set. Tomatoes do best when transplanted, as the germination time can be longer than most vegetable seeds. They grow very well in our heavy-duty seed starting trays. Plants should be started 4-6 weeks before the intended outdoor planting date.

I planted the seeds ( did not look like tomatoe seeds) they are about 21/2 inches tall, spindly, 2 leaves and still does not look like a tomatoe plant. The seeds I received were round and white. Concerned.

These seeds are pelleted. If they are not in an adequate light source as soon as they germinate, they will get spindly.

Not sure about other review – definitely tomato plants when grown in the correct conditions – are very healthy and headed for a great crop.

Ordered this seed after watching the Row by Row garden show where they chose the name Hossinator STM 2255 I planted the seeds with near 100% germination. The jury is still out, big strong plants loaded with lots of tomatoes. Looks like blossom end rot is going to be a problem. But I think it has more to do with the lack of consistent watering due to my health. I don’t have any ripe tomatoes yet but the future looks good.

We started our seeds in the greenhouse and transplanted out to a raised bed in April. Just had our first tomato fall off because it was so big weighed in at 19.3 oz Best looking tomato I have ever grown. Will be doing the taste test later today. I can only imagine it is going to be wonderful

I recieved my seeds in March, my Husband planted 12 seeds,2 seeds per 6 inch rounds. They took about 2-3 weeks to germinate. We got 12 plants, 100%. We planted 4 of them in April. And they are prefect. I have been trimming of the suckered and have about 12-15 large green tomatoes per plant, and the are good size and prefect looking. Can’t wait to they ripen and we can cut into them. I will definatly purchase from Hoss again. Great product. I wish I could attach a photo.

I’m in zone 7a in New Mexico. These are absolutely the best tomatoes I’ve grown in 20 years. Although they aren’t ripe yet to taste, the growth and amount of large beautiful tomatoes are the best I’ve grown so far. Definitely going to grow more rows next year

Very nice tomato to grow and eat in south Louisiana but not as good as the red snapper red snapper is hard to beat and Bella Rosa

Great seed germination, turned into beautiful plants. We have had so many tomatoes from our plants and the taste is absolutely wonderful. Love the hossinator. Will definitely be buying again.

I grew one Hossinator in my raised tomato bed this year and it was the best tasting tomato of the slicers I grew, which included Roadster and Big Beef. It’s a determinate plant but still gets quite tall – next year I’m going to buy a taller cage or just string trellis like my indeterminates. The taste is a perfect mix of sweetness and acidity and the tomatoes are deep red and quite large. Next year I’ll be growing 2 of these.
