Product Description
Freshly ground corn meal or grits are a key ingredient in many farm-to-table meals. As ground corn meal and grits sit on the store shelf, they lose much of their flavor and nutritional content. Grinding fresh, Heirloom Whole Corn is the best way to ensure you have the freshest ingredients.
Corn meal is an essential ingredient for making baked cornbread, muffins and other sweet treats. It also makes a great batter for frying vegetables and meat. Use it for frying okra, pickles, squash and green tomatoes. Cover your favorite seafood or wild game in fresh corn meal before frying. Use a finer grinding setting to make corn meal with a flour-like consistency. Use a coarser grind setting for making beautiful, colorful grits which are the perfect comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We’ve got four different varieties of Heirloom Whole Corn packaged in 2 lb bags. This corn is non-GMO, open-pollinated and organically grown. The corn has been grown with care, cleaned and is packaged ready for grinding. We recommend using a stone grain mill such as our MockMill Stone Grain Mill.
