Ageratum Blue Horizon is a brightly-colored favorite for vegetable gardeners and cut flower growers. It works great when planted among vegetable plants as it attracts beneficial insects and loads of bee and butterfly pollinators. Beneficial insects can drastically improve the health and vigor of your vegetable garden, as they will increase pollination and reduce the populations of harmful crop pests.

Ageratum also makes a great filler for bouquets with larger flowers. This hybrid variety produces tall, sturdy stems that are multi-branching. Stems reach a maximum height of 30″ and provide a dense ground cover for shading any new weed growth. Ageratum Blue Horizon produces bluish-purple flowers that grow in bunches which are 2-3″ in diameter. These fuzzy flowers have long stems that make them perfect for bouquets and bundle arrangements. They are also long-lasting and hold well once cut and given adequate water.

We recommend transplanting Ageratum Blue Horizon for best results. This flower variety grows great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays with Black Gold Seed Starting Mix. Transplants may be started a few weeks before the last frost date in spring, but can also be grown anytime throughout the warmer months. Plants should be placed in the ground after the last frost date in spring or anytime during the spring, summer or early fall growing periods. Ageratum is a vigorous plant that does well throughout the entire warm growing season. For best results, prune or cut flowers as they bloom. This will ensure the production of continuous blooms throughout the growing season.
